Choose a test
Use the test catalog to search by condition, gene, or indication. Each listing includes recommended use cases, methodology, and sample requirements—helping you select the right test for each patient.
Submit a sample
Request a sample collection kit, collect the sample, and ship it to our lab using the provided materials. Detailed instructions are included with every kit.
Receive results
Results are delivered securely through our online ordering portal, typically within 2–4 weeks1. Each report includes clear findings, interpretation, and clinical guidance to support next steps in care.
Sign in or register for an account
If you already have a GeneDx account, sign in here.

Select a test from the test catalog and place an order
Browse our test catalog and add a test to your cart. Follow the checkout prompts and share necessary clinical and billing information.
Providing detailed and complete information upfront can:
- Enable clear, thorough results.
- Reduce the time to interpret results, getting you answers sooner.
- Increase the likelihood that testing will be approved by insurance.

Importance of submitting complete clinical information
Most insurance companies require documentation to establish medical necessity for genetic testing. Additionally, GeneDx requires that same information to initiate exome and genome testing. Documentation with the following information must be submitted with an exome or genome order:
Personal and family history
Why exome/genome is the most appropriate test for your patient based on their personal and family history (e.g., clinical notes and previous test results).
Clinical notes
How testing results could potentially impact management, including explicit details and examples (e.g., clinical notes).
Previous genetic testing
If applicable, documentation that genetic testing was previously performed (e.g., documentation of ordering provider).
Customizable templates
GeneDx offers customizable templates to help you establish medical necessity for exome and genome testing.
There are two ways to request sample collection kits
- Ahead of an order: If you would like to keep a few sample collection kits in your office, simply submit a request here.
- With an order: When placing an order in the GeneDx portal, a sample collection kit prompt will appear. You can ship kits to your office. Cheek swab (buccal) kits can be shipped directly to a patient’s home, making it easier to obtain biological relative samples for trio or duo testing.

- Simple instructions and a QR code to access an instructional video (cheek swab (buccal) kits only).
- Postage paid FedEx return envelope.
- Patient informed consent form.
If collecting samples in your office, ask your Client Success Manager to arrange for pick up as soon as possible for prompt processing.
